Manchester United have reportedly kept Aleksey Batrakov on their radar despite missing out on the Russian midfielder during the summer transfer window.
The 21-year-old was linked with a move to Old Trafford after breaking into Lokomotiv Moscow’s first team in 2024 and quickly attracting attention from clubs around Europe.
Manchester United were interested in the attacking midfielder, but a transfer to England was too difficult because of UK sanctions relating to the Ukraine conflict.
Batrakov eventually left Lokomotiv and joined Galatasaray. The move opened his doors further, and he is now a target for Manchester United. Paris Saint-Germain is also among the clubs interested in the midfielder.
Manchester United set to scout Batrakov again
Since moving to Turkey, Batrakov has made five appearances across competitions and has registered one assist.
However, his summer move has not ended interest from English clubs. According to A Spor, Manchester United and Chelsea remain interested in the youngster and are preparing to take another look at him once the window reopens.
The report claims both clubs are expected to send scouts to watch Batrakov when Galatasaray face Barcelona in the Champions League.
A Spor reported that Manchester United and Chelsea are planning to monitor the Russian during their next European fixtures.
The situation could give United another chance to assess a player they were unable to pursue directly earlier in the year. Any future move would still depend on the restrictions surrounding transfers involving Russian clubs, but Batrakov’s development at Galatasaray is clearly being followed.
Whether United eventually make another attempt remains unclear but Batrakov has not disappeared from the club’s plans for the transfer window.
