Juventus keen on Manchester United forward to replace Nick Woltemade

Juventus are reportedly keeping an eye on Benjamin Sesko as they assess their striker options for next summer, with the Manchester United forward now among several names being considered in Turin.

Benjamin Sesko joined Manchester United after turning down interest from Newcastle United and Arsenal. The forward United from RB Leipzig for 75 million. Despite the interest, the Slovenian international instead chose Old Trafford, although his first spell at the club has not been completely straightforward.

The striker recently pulled out of Slovenia duty because of a shin problem. The same issue kept him out of United’s final matches last season and also ruled him out of the draw with Fulham before the latest international break.

Sesko has also found it difficult to establish himself as Michael Carrick’s automatic choice at centre-forward. Carrick has went with Matheus Cunha regularly preferred in the position as Sesko nurses the injury.

Juventus monitoring Sesko alongside Brobbey and Balogun

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, Juventus are preparing for the possibility of moving for a new striker next summer after deciding against making Nick Woltemade’s loan from Newcastle permanent.

Sesko is understood to be one of the players on their shortlist, with Sunderland’s Brian Brobbey, who is also linked to Manchester United, and Monaco’s Folarin Balogun also being monitored.

The interest will be worth watching for Manchester United, particularly if Sesko’s struggles for regular starts continue. His current injury has also provided another frustrating interruption to his season.

Juventus are yet to make any move for the 23-year-old and their interest remains at the monitoring stage. As things stand, Sesko remains a Manchester United player with enough time to establish himself as United’s undisputed forward upfront.
