One of many players rumoured to be unsettled at the Bernabeu, Sergio Ramos heads onto a long list of Real Madrid players who could be looking to ply their trade elsewhere. However, one man who could be looking commit himself to the European Giants is our very own David de Gea. Despite being reluctant to let him go, a failed move for prioritised transfer target who wishes to give his new gaffer a shot, Mats Hummels, could result in a switch that would see the defender-in-question bring up the rear at Manchester United instead.
Reportedly, following a rejected £13million bid for the Red Devils’ prized shot-stopper, Real Madrid representatives went back a second time where their Red opposite numbers divulged that they would like to see Ramos at Old Trafford.
Despite having two years left on Madrid’s books, contract negotiations stalled leaving the centre-back feeling unappreciated at his current club by the club with which he has happily spent a decade serving them. His price tag does suggest otherwise though as the 29-year-old is valued at £35million. Money is no object for United and his £82,000 (net) wages per week wouldn’t be any obstacle but you could say there are more pressing players van Gaal has his eye on.
It won’t come as a surprise though that Manchester City and Paris Saint-Germain are also lurking, ready to pounce as his camp are 10-time European champions with Ramos amassing over 400 appearances for the club and you could say, playing his part in Champions League final in which he participated that saw his side triumphant. After all, his equaliser four minutes deep into added time did only see them play another 30 and grab another few in order to hoist the silverware. Not bad.
