Nick Powell arrived at Manchester United as one of England’s hottest young prospects, having had an incredible season at Crewe Alexandria which culminated in a spectacular play-off goal at Wembley – a shot any senior United forward would have been proud of.
Expectation was huge for the young midfielder when he first arrived – and he looked to be every bit the player Sir Alex Ferguson promised as he scored on his Red Devils debut against Wigan. He perhaps may have made much more of his United career had it not been for Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement.
David Moyes shipped him off on loan to Wigan where he impressed, but he’s rarely contributed under new manager Louis van Gaal and it looks like time may be up for him, unfortunately.
Nottingham Forest are forerunners for his signature but Preston North End are also in contention, according to The Sun. He needs a platform to kick-start on after a dull period so he’d maybe benefit from time away from the Premier League
