UPDATE: David De Gea

UPDATE: David De Gea

It seems to be inevitable that David de Gea, will be leaving, to join Real Madrid this summer. The speedy resolution that Manchester United fans were clamouring for seems to be prolonging. However, it was likely that this would be the transfer saga of the summer, and it is certainly living up to that.

Although, the names of Ed Woodward, Jorge Mendez and Florentino Perez are being thrown about, what everyone seems to be forgetting is the player himself, De Gea. Whilst, it is clear there has been an offer on the table from Manchester United, for a contract renewal, no answer has yet been given. This has been the indication that the player is leaning towards a move that would see him back in his homeland of Madrid. The attraction may be too strong, with his family living there, compiled by the fact his girlfriend, Edurne Garcia, is currently working in Madrid too. This may be all too much for De Gea to resist, considering the opportunity may not present itself again

More recently, there have been suggestions of Sergio Ramos, being included in a deal, which may possibly be the most high-profile move of the summer already. However, these are just speculative and perhaps something to assuage Manchester United fans as they too are in the dark. In actual fact, we are all in the dark, no one seems to know what is happening, De Gea himself is on holiday, and is rumoured to want a solution to this before the start of pre-season. As much as we may all hope for, it is unclear as to what is going to happen, could we yet see a turnaround, similarly to Wayne Rooney in 2010 and see David de Gea put pen to paper, who knows. This is going to be the protracted summer saga, which we all thought.

According to Pete Jenson of the Daily Mail, United have launched a £35m bid for Sergio Ramos – but it is thought to be entirely independent of Los Blancos attempts to sign David De Gea.
