Sky Sports have revealed that Manchester United are still pushing to bring Gareth Bale to Manchester United ahead of the fast-approaching transfer window deadline.
However, they claim that an official bid is yet to be received by Real Madrid, with Sky’s sources having claimed that the Spanish giants expect the Welsh winger to stay at the Bernabeu past the transfer deadline.
In January, Bale dismissed rumours that he was set for a move to Old Trafford:
“I’ve got several years left on my contract, I’m enjoying myself, we’re winning trophies and I want to keep doing that here at Real.”
United bid for the ex-Tottenham man before he moved to La Liga but were turned away by Daniel Levy; Louis van Gaal is thought to admire Bale as much as David Moyes did, though.
The 26-year-old is one of the world’s best in his position and would fit the bill perfectly for van Gaal, who has recently spoken out to say that he is looking for a fast winger to bolster his squad.
