Chicharito shown exit door

Chicharito shown exit door

Manchester United striker and Mexican international Javier Hernandez has been informed that he is free to seek pastures new before the transfer window slams shut at 18:00 BST on Tuesday, according to Jason Burt of The Telegraph.

Burt claims that German side Bayer Leverkusen, who have just sold Heung-Min Son to Tottenham Hotspur, are the favourites to sign “Chicharito”. The Mexican international, who scored on his United debut against Chelsea, is thought to be open to the move as Bayer Levekusen are in the Champions League.

‘Little Pea’ was thought to have been remaining at United this season as Louis van Gaal’s second striker, but after an absolutely dismal cameo performance against Club Brugge in midweek, Hernandez has been deemed surplus to requirements.

He came on as United were seeing the game out and with the match already won at 4-0 (7-1 aggregate), the Mexican had a chance to get on the scoresheet and make it absolutely humiliating for Club Brugge – but missed a penalty. He was a stark contrast to captain Wayne Rooney, who scored a hat-trick on the same evening.
