Manchester United goalkeeper Anders Lindegaard looks set for a move to West Brom, according to The Telegraph.
The 31-year old Dane will end his near five-year spell at Old Trafford by joining the Baggies on a free transfer, linking up with former United players Darren Fletcher, Jonny Evans and James Chester.
Lindegaard joined the Reds from Norwegian side Aalesund in January 2010, for a fee of around £3.5 million, to challenge David de Gea for a first team spot. For a while, it looked as if the Dane had displaced de Gea, starting a run of games as the Spaniard was dropped from the side.
After de Gea recovered from his shaky start though, Lindegaard hasn’t really challenged for a regular first team place between the sticks, falling out of favour with successive United managers, with the Danish international having not played for the Reds since April 2014 in a 4-0 victory over Newcastle.
With de Gea, Sergio Romero and Sam Johnstone ahead of Lindegaard in the pecking order, manager Louis van Gaal made it clear that he was surplus to requirements at Old Trafford and free to find another club.
Tony Pulis will hope to resurrect Lindegaard’s career at the Hawthorns, and the Dane will provide competition for Boaz Myhill for the number one spot between the sticks, with regular starter Ben Foster out until October as he continues his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury.
