United Hunt Young Wolves Striker

Manchester United are preparing a £1 million bid for Wolverhampton Wanderers youngster Niall Ennis, reports the Express and Star.

The 16-year old has impressed for club and country in recent months; the starlet’s impressive form earning both a starting berth in the Wolves U21 squad and his first cap for the England U17s. The young striker justified his inclusion in the England squad by netting his first international goal in the side’s recent 7-3 loss to Portugal U17s.

Though noisy neighbours Manchester City and defending champions Chelsea are also rumoured to be interested in the youngster, Wolves boss Kenny Jackett remains confident of keeping Ennis at the club.

“We wouldn’t encourage or be encouraging any big clubs to take a talent like that away from us.”

Ennis himself appears to be happy where he is for the time being, having expressed an interest in earning a position in the Wolves first team.

“Players like Dom Iorfa, Jack Price and Danny Batth being the captain, they’re players to look up to, and that just makes me want to follow in their footsteps and be a Wolves first team player.”

With Wolves having recently earned promotion to the Championship and holding high hopes for a return to the top flight, it remains to be seen whether Ennis will remain at Molineux or go on to fight for his place at one of the world’s largest clubs.
