United tracking Eredivisie defender

Manchester United are keeping tabs on Dutch defender Jerry St Juste, according to Simon Jones of the Daily Mail.

St Juste is an 18-year-old Dutchman who plays at centre-back for Eredivisie side SC Heerenveen. He’s played the full 90 minutes in all of his side’s games so far this season, although a clean sheet has only been kept in one of those; their most recent game, against NEC Nijmegen. He recieved a yellow card against FC Utrecht in the third game of the season but has put in some good performances, especially for a player of his age.

Daily Mail claim that he captured the attention of United’s scouts as they were doing their usual background work in preparation for United’s Champions League fixture against PSV Eindhoven. The club watched Heerenveen draw 1-1 with the reigning Dutch champions and St Juste is said to have been very convincing in that game.

United lost 2-1 to PSV but are yet to face them at Old Trafford. Their next game comes on Wednesday night against Ipswich Town in the League Cup.
