United complete transfer of promising youngster

Manchester United have completed the signing of DJ Buffonge, or to give him his full name Darren Raekwon McIntosh-Buffonge following a successful trial with the Old Trafford club.

The former Fulham youngster started the season in the Under-18 team and impressed in a few games before picking up a groin injury in a 3-2 win over Derby County in late August.

Despite the setback, United’s coaches had seen enough to sign Buffonge on a scholarship deal on 13th November. The creative midfielder is described as a player who is ‘very comfortable in possession of the ball’.

The Londoner will be hopeful of following in the footsteps of Jesse Lingard, James Wilson, Andreas Pereira, Sam Johnstone, Cameron Borthwick-Jackson and Axel Tuanzebe who have all featured in first-team squads this term.

Buffonge was with Arsenal’s Academy before switching across the capital to Fulham.
