Manchester United are ready to make a move in the summer for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku, according to the Mirror.
The Reds know that they will not succeed with a bid for Lukaku in this month’s transfer window, with the Toffees highly unlikely to let the Belgian leave Goodison Park.
However, they will return for the 22-year-old in the summer as United’s executive vice-chairman Ed Woodward is ready to sanction another spending spree at Old Trafford.

Woodward believes that Louis van Gaal’s side needs a number of top-class signings – including a prolific striker – to bring the Reds back to the top of the Premier League and Lukaku fits the bill.
Other names on that list include Real Madrid’s Gareth Bale, Tottenham’s Harry Kane and Southampton’s Sadio Mane.
Lukaku is United’s preferred signing in attack, given Tottenham’s reluctance to sell Kane to one of their Premier League rivals.

The Belgian has been in hot form for Everton this season, scoring 15 goals in the Premier League at the halfway mark of the season. The 22-year-old has scored 12 in his last 12 games in all competitions to take his tally for the season to 19.
United had looked into the possibility of signing Lukaku last summer, but Louis van Gaal ultimately decided not to pursue the Belgian international.
However, the Reds’ stuttering attack this season has forced the Dutchman’s hand and the 22-year-old would be a great signing to strengthen United’s options in the final third.
