Manchester United defender Matteo Darmian has dismissed reports linking him with a move away from Old Trafford.
The Italian’s form has tailed off after a bright start in England and several reports in his homeland suggested Juventus would be favourites to bring the 26-year-old back on loan.

However, the right-back has shrugged off the rumours and believes United manager Louis van Gaal is pleased with his progress so far.
He told the Manchester Evening News:
I am happy here with the team, the staff and the city. I am happy here so I just try to ignore the rumours. I want to continue on my way and that’s it.
I think the manager is happy with my progress and when I train I try to improve day by day. And when the manager gives me a chance I try to do my best and to help the team.

Darmian started off his time at Old Trafford in his natural position on the right, but Luke Shaw’s double leg break back in September, in addition to the multiple injuries suffered by the Reds backline, has meant that the versatile defender has been deployed at left-back at times.
But the Italian international believes he is most comfortable at right-back. He added:
I am most comfortable on the right side. But playing on the left side is not a problem when the coach wants me to play there. I always try to do my best wherever I play.
I had a hamstring injury earlier and to return after that is not easy. Sometimes it effects you mentally. It is not easy. But now I feel good. I want to play like I did at the beginning of the season and that is what I’m trying to do.
