Manchester United will reportedly ask whether Leicester City midfielder N’Golo Kante is up for sale this summer when the Foxes visit Old Trafford at the weekend, according to Goal.
The Reds are ready to splash the cash for the French midfielder and they will speak to the Leicester hierarchy to see whether they would be open to entering negotiations for a potential deal.
United believe that Kante may be available for £20 million due to a buyout clause in his contract and will use the fixture between the two sides on Sunday – where Leicester could potentially clinch the Premier League – to enquire about his availability.
However, they are reluctant to enter into a bidding war for the 25-year-old and are ready to offer out Andreas Pereira on loan to the King Power Stadium in exchange for Kante’s services.
Kante has been one of the standout performers in the Premier League this season, forming the spine of Leicester’s fairytale season. His performances earnt him his first France caps in March and he was named in the PFA Team of the Year last weekend.
The 25-year-old’s performances also attracted the praise of former United manager Sir Alex Ferguson, who deemed Kante the Premier League’s best player ‘by a long way’ earlier in March.
