Manchester United are ready to make a £45 million move for Sporting Lisbon midfielder João Mário, according to Portuguese paper A Bola.
United scouts were at the game between Sporting and Porto on Saturday to monitor the 23-year-old’s progress and they are ready to make a move for the in-form midfielder.
However, it seems that Sporting may be reluctant to sell the Portuguese international due to his fine form this season and manager Jorge Jesus considers him to be a very influential figure in the side.

If the Reds are to sign João Mário this summer, they will have to pay his release clause of €60 million and Sporting president Bruno de Carvalho reportedly wants any deal to be concluded before the start of Euro 2016.
The 23-year-old has been one of the standout players in the Primeira Liga this season, having scored six goals and assisted a further 12, the most by a Portuguese player in the league this season.
His form has also attracted the interest of La Liga side Atletico Madrid, as well as United’s rivals Liverpool, but whether the midfielder is worth his full release clause of €60 million is very debatable.
