United battle German outfit for Danish star

19-year-old Kasper Dolberg is being reported as a target for a series of European clubs.

Manchester United are keen on acquiring the services of the young striker, who has netted 11 times for Ajax this season already.

It is reported that Mourinho has sent scouts to Holland to assess the starlet, along with representatives from City and Everton.

The forward is spoken of in high regard amongst the Ajax hierarchy; John Olsen, the Scandinavian scout who brought Dolberg to Ajax in the summer (also responsible for bringing Ibrahimovic and Eriksen to Amsterdam) has nothing but praise for the young striker.

Kasper is an extraordinary talent, he has exceptional qualities: speed, technique, intelligent play and good in the air.

The Reds look set to fend off any interest from their Premier league rivals, but will, however, have to go toe-to-toe with German giants Borussia Dortmund for the Danes signature.

The forward is said to be valued around the £10m mark, which seems a steal in the current crazed market.

United though appear to be hesitant in purchasing the player in January though and instead look keen to try and press on with Dolberg in the summer window.

However, Dortmund, who have a depleted forward line, could move sooner.

Thomas Tuchel’s side are returning from the winter break without an available striker, and with Aubameyang’s future in question, the Reds would need to act quickly to beat Dortmund to the signing.
