Former United goalkeeper returns to the Premier League

Former Manchester United goalkeeper and Denmark international Anders Lindegaard has sealed a move back to the Premier League.

The Danish shot stopper has agreed a deal with Sean Dyche’s Burnley following the expiration of his contract with Preston North End.

The 33-year old has signed a deal which will keep him at Turf Moor until the end of the season, off the back of Tom Heaton’s surgery on a dislocated shoulder.

Lindegaard has spent the last week training with the Clarets and will now look to win a place in their Premier League squad, competing with Nick Pope and Adam Legzdins.

Anders joined Manchester United from Aalesund in 2010 and made 29 appearances for the Red Devils, mostly in rotation with David de Gea.

He then moved to West Bromwich Albion in 2015, but made only one appearance for the Baggies before moving on to Preston North End, who he helped to an 11th-placed finish in the Championship last season.

United don’t face Burnley until Boxing Day so it is unlikely that Lindegaard will line up against his former club, but anything is possible in football!
