Palmer ‘Open’ To Manchester United
Cole Palmer is reportedly ‘disillusioned’ at Chelsea and frustrated by a change of tactics following Nicolas Jackson’s departure. The boyhood Manchester United fan would be open to moving to Old Trafford.
SunSport‘s Samuel Luckhurst reports that United are interested in Palmer, who could cost £150m. They are joined by Real Madrid and Bayern Munich, who are also monitoring the situation.
The 23-year-old has appeared 25 times across competitions this season, scoring 10 goals and providing three assists. His contract doesn’t expire until 2033, and the Blues view him as ‘untouchable.’
Ayden Heaven Hails Leny Yoro
Ayden Heaven has tipped Leny Yoro to become a superstar amid the French defender’s rise at Manchester United. The duo are two of the younger members of Michael Carrick’s senior team, playing backup to Harry Maguire and Lisandro Martinez.
The English centre-back is pleased his teammate is getting game time and reckons he’s headed for the top. He told club media:
“It’s good [Yoro getting chances]. He deserves it obviously. He showed what he could do when he came and I’m just happy for him that he’s getting the chances, he can show what he is capable of. Describe him as a player? He’s quick, really quick, good on the ball, good in the air. He’s got all you need as a centre-back. He will be top.”
Yoro joined United from LOSC Lille in July 2024 for £52m, with the Reds beating Real Madrid to his signature. He’s since made 28 appearances in the league this season and has enormous potential.
Beckham is a Carrick Fan
David Beckham has given a glowing verdict of Michael Carrick and spoken highly of his spell as interim Manchester United coach. The Englishman returned to Old Trafford in January, replacing Ruben Amorim, who was dismissed by co-owners INEOS.
Speaking to talkSPORT, the Reds’ iconic former midfielder explained what he likes about Carrick and what has changed since he took charge:
“I’ve always liked Michael as a coach. There’s a calmness about him. On the sidelines, there’s an elegance whether he celebrates or shows frustration. All of that matters in a manager. He knows the players and the way Manchester United should play. As a United fan, it’s exactly what we needed.“
Carrick has worked wonders since returning to the United dugout for a second stint as an interim head coach. He’s overseen seven wins and one defeat in 10 games in charge, including victories over Arsenal and Manchester City.
The 44-year-old is in pole position to be appointed permanently at the Theatre of Dreams. One of his possible contenders, Luis Enrique, has reportedly decided to snub a move to Manchester and instead sign a contract extension at Paris Saint-Germain.
United ‘Working Hard’ on Tonali
Sandro Tonali has seemingly emerged as Manchester United’s top target to bolster their midfield this summer. The Italian has caught the eye throughout his spell at Newcastle United and has earned admiration from Old Trafford.
According to Fabrizio Romano on his YouTube channel, the Reds are “working hard on a possible deal for Tonali.” The 25-year-old is “rated extremely highly”, and a return to Italy is “unlikely.”
Tonali could arrive as Casemiro’s replacement, with the Brazilian set to depart in June when his contract expires. He has made 47 appearances across competitions this season, posting three goals and seven assists.
Casemiro Confirms Exit
Casemiro has insisted he will be leaving Manchester United when his contract is up at the end of the season. The Brazilian announced his plans to depart Old Trafford back in January but there have been calls from fans for him to stay for one more year.
The 34-year-old was in action for Brazil in a 2-1 friendly loss against France on Thursday night. He said regarding his future (via The Athletic):
“I’m still enjoying my time in Manchester. I think the announcement is done. The affection from the fans has been huge. I truly believe the decision is made, and right now I’m enjoying myself. I know the final games at Manchester United will bring some emotional moments.“
Casemiro has been a mainstay for United this season and has impressed with excellent performances. He’s made 29 appearances in the league, registering seven goals and two assists.
