Manchester United do not plan to sell Mason Mount this summer despite fresh interest from AC Milan.
Football365 report that United have no intention of moving Mount on, even after reports in Italy claimed the midfielder had been offered to Milan.
The same report says Milan could value Mount at around £21.5m. That would mark a sharp drop from the initial £55m fee United paid Chelsea in 2023.
Mount Still Has United Chance Under Carrick
For United, the stance makes sense.
Mount has not yet delivered the level expected when he arrived from Chelsea. Injuries have disrupted his rhythm, and he still needs a settled run of games to prove where he fits in Michael Carrick’s side.
But selling now would create another gap in a squad that already needs more technical quality between midfield and attack.
Read Man Utd has already looked at Mount’s AC Milan transfer situation and why this summer always looked important for him. The latest update gives United a firmer position: they want him to stay and fight for his place.
The Milan link carries extra intrigue because former United boss Ruben Amorim now manages the Italian club. A reunion would create an obvious storyline, but United appear unwilling to accept a reduced fee for a player Carrick can still use.
Mount’s task now is simple. He has to stay fit, win minutes and make United’s stance look like conviction rather than hesitation.
