Eva Olid Begins a New Chapter for Manchester United Women
Eva Olid has hailed her new role as “a coach’s dream” as she begins life as Manchester United Women’s head coach. Speaking to the club’s official website after her appointment, Olid set out her excitement at taking charge of one of the most watched sides in the Women’s Super League.
The new boss succeeds Marc Skinner, who left by mutual consent after five years in charge, and has signed a two-year deal at Old Trafford. She inherits a strong squad captained by Maya Le Tissier and featuring internationals such as Ella Toone, Jess Park, Elisabeth Terland, Fridolina Rolfö and Lea Schüller, with goalkeeper Phallon Tullis-Joyce behind them. United play their home league games at Leigh Sports Village, taking marquee fixtures to Old Trafford.
What Eva Olid’s Appointment Means for United
Olid arrives at a pivotal moment for the Red Devils, tasked with pushing the team back towards the top of the WSL. Supporters following United Women’s new WSL campaign will hope her arrival sparks a fresh, ambitious chapter after a period of transition.
The new campaign will provide the first real test of Olid’s ideas. For now, though, the mood is upbeat — and if the job really is “a coach’s dream”, United will hope she can turn that into silverware.
