Manchester United return to Old Trafford on Sunday looking for a response after their 2-0 defeat to Hull City on the opening weekend. Michael Carrick could make changes as United look to put things right against Ipswich Town.
Man Utd predicted XI against Ipswich Town
Senne Lammens
Lammens is expected to keep his place in goal after starting against Hull. He’ll be hoping for a quieter afternoon at Old Trafford.
Diogo Dalot
Dalot could come into the starting XI at right-back. His experience will be useful in a game Manchester United need to control.
Harry Maguire
Maguire is likely to continue at centre-back. United will need him to have a solid outing after a horror defending episode at Hull.
Ayden Heaven
Heaven could retain his place alongside Maguire. The young defender will want to put last weekend behind him.
Luke Shaw
Shaw is expected to start again on the left. He’ll be looking for a much better display after facing criticism at Hull.
Youri Tielemans
Youri Tielemans should get another chance to settle into United’s midfield. His passing could be important against Ipswich.
Andrey Santos
Santos is also expected to keep his place in the middle. Carrick will want more influence from the summer signing this time.
Bryan Mbeumo
Mbeumo could continue on the right side of the attack. United will need more threat from the wide areas.
Bruno Fernandes
The captain remains their most creative playmaker. United need Bruno Fernandes to get much more involved after a quiet game at Hull.
Dorgu
Dorgu could start on the left again. His pace may give United another solid attacking option.
Matheus Cunha
Cunha is expected to lead the line once more. After United failed to score at Hull, he’ll be looking to make an impact.
