  • Manchester United are holding a training camp in Dublin
  • Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Dorgu included in squad
  • The Reds face Leeds on Monday

Lisandro Martinez and Patrick Dorgu were named in Manchester United’s squad for the training camp in Dublin this week. The duo have been sidelined with injuries but are nearing a return ahead of a crucial stage of the season.

The pair travelled to the Republic of Ireland for what the club describe as an ‘intensive training camp.’ It’s a four-day programme which helps Michael Carrick prepare his troops for the final seven games of the Premier League campaign.

Martinez has been out of action since February after sustaining a calf injury, while Dorgu has been out of action since January with a hamstring injury. They are two of Carrick’s most important players and he’ll be eager to have them available as he looks to seal Champions League qualification.

Martinez and Dorgu Step up Recovery

There was good news on Tuesday morning as the club announced Harry Maguire’s contract extension. The English defender has put pen to paper on a new one-year deal, and Kobbie Mainoo looks to be closing in on a new contract.

Martinez and Maguire formed a formidable partnership during the start of Carrick’s reign. It might not be long until they are back playing together in the Reds team.

Rob Dawson of ESPN reports that Martinez trained with the main group in Dublin this morning. He posted a picture of the Argentine participating along with Luke Shaw and Joshua Zirkzee.

Dorgu isn’t quite ready to take part in group training as he is undergoing an individual programme. The Danish winger’s recovery seems to be going well but it doesn’t seem likely he’ll be back for the Leeds United game.

Manchester United face Leeds at Old Trafford on Monday (April 13th). It will have been 24 days since Carrick’s men were last in action, settling on a 2-2 draw against Bournemouth last month.
