Manchester United Set For Financial Boost From Alejandro Garnacho Sale

Chelsea are reportedly willing to sell Alejandro Garnacho this summer, less than 12 months after signing the winger from Manchester United.

talkSPORT reports that Chelsea want a permanent sale if Garnacho leaves. The club are not currently considering another loan.

The 22-year-old joined Chelsea from United last year. The Guardian reported at the time that United agreed a £40m fee and included a 10% sell-on clause.

That clause now gives United a financial interest in Chelsea’s next move.

United Could Receive Useful Sell-On Fee

Garnacho made 43 appearances in all competitions last season. He scored eight goals and supplied four assists. talkSPORT says only one of those goals came in the Premier League.

Chelsea now appear ready to cash in before his role narrows further under Xabi Alonso.

For United, the numbers are simple. A sale close to the original £40m fee would send around £4m back to Old Trafford through the sell-on clause.

That figure will not transform Michael Carrick’s transfer budget. It could still help in a summer shaped by midfield spending, wage control and late-window flexibility.

Read Manchester United has already covered how Garnacho’s Chelsea future could affect United’s summer planning. This latest update strengthens that angle.

Garnacho’s exit from Old Trafford was painful for many supporters. His first-team pathway broke down under Ruben Amorim, and Chelsea moved quickly.

If Chelsea sell him after one season, United will at least benefit from the clause they protected during the deal.
