Manchester United have made an enquiry over a possible summer move for Crystal Palace forward Ismaïla Sarr.
Michael Carrick wants to add another versatile attacker before the transfer window closes. Sarr has emerged as one of several options under consideration at Old Trafford.
According to Foot Mercato, via Get French Football News, United have asked about the Senegal international’s availability.
The 28-year-old is not currently described as United’s priority attacking target. However, the recruitment team continue to assess him following an impressive campaign for club and country.
Manchester United receive Sarr transfer encouragement
Sarr is reportedly a lifelong United supporter and would welcome the opportunity to move to Old Trafford.
His position could give Carrick encouragement if United decide to develop their initial enquiry into formal negotiations. Crystal Palace have not yet indicated that they are prepared to sell.
Sarr remains under contract at Selhurst Park until 2029. Palace are therefore in a strong position and would likely demand a significant fee for one of their leading attackers.
The winger recorded 21 goals across all competitions last season as Palace won the Conference League. He then scored four times for Senegal during the World Cup.
United’s interest is not new. ReadManUtd previously reported that the club wanted to sign Sarr following his World Cup performances.
Sarr can operate from either wing or through the middle. His Premier League experience would also reduce the adjustment period required following a transfer.
United are considering several attacking targets while Marcus Rashford’s future remains unresolved. Crysencio Summerville and Iliman Ndiaye have also been linked with moves to Old Trafford.
For now, United have only made an enquiry. Palace’s valuation and Carrick’s final attacking priority will determine whether discussions progress further.
