Marcus Rashford is now expected to remain at Manchester United for the 2026/27 season after rejecting interest from Turkish club Fenerbahce.
Rashford’s future has been one of the big talking points around Old Trafford after his loan spell at Barcelona last season. A permanent move back to Spain was on the cards, but Barcelona decided not to activate the €30 million option.
That left Rashford back in Manchester, and things appear to have changed.
Marcus Rashford chooses to stay at United
Reports now indicate that the England international has turned down Fenerbahce and is instead prepared to work with Michael Carrick this season.
Manchester United are also happy to keep him. He is on a massive £325,000-a-week wage, limiting options for him elsewhere. However, his recent performances have given the club another reason to keep him around.
Rashford came off the bench against Hull City last weekend and was one of United’s better players in a disappointing 2-0 defeat. He replaced Patrick Dorgu at half-time and impressed during his time on the pitch.
There is now even a possibility that he could start Sunday’s game against Ipswich Town at Old Trafford.
Fabrizio Romano previously reported that Rashford’s chances of remaining at United were increasing, while BBC Sport’s Simon Stone said his future would include the club unless there was a late change.
Michael Carrick has also welcomed the forward back into his plans.
“It’s been pretty obvious since Marcus came back training with Kobbie [Mainoo] and Licha [Martinez] pretty much in Dublin that he’s come back fantastically well, you know,” Michael Carrick said earlier.
Rashford has scored 138 goals in 427 appearances for United and now has another opportunity to revive his career at the club.
