Man Utd News: Darlow’s Leeds Exit, Ederson Confusion And Kone’s Price Tag

Manchester United’s transfer business is moving on three fronts at once this week, and Monday brings fresh detail on all of them: Karl Darlow’s move across the Pennines, the muddled picture around Ederson, and Roma’s price for Manu Kone.

Darlow’s Leeds exit confirmed as a “blow” by Yorkshire reporters

Karl Darlow’s free transfer from Leeds United to Old Trafford is now in what The Athletic describes as “advanced stages,” with the goalkeeper pencilled in as back-up to Senne Lammens once Altay Bayindir leaves this summer. According to the Yorkshire Evening Post, Leeds had hoped to keep the 35-year-old on a new deal but were beaten to his signature, leaving Daniel Farke with only Lucas Perri as a senior option. Fabrizio Romano has described the move as done in principle, with the formalities still to be completed. As Read Man Utd reported earlier this month, United have been tracking Darlow since Bayindir’s future became uncertain.

Ederson picture still unclear as Sky Sports disputes “collapse” reports

The Ederson saga took another turn over the weekend. Fabrizio Romano said United had informed Atalanta the deal was off after concerns arose during a second round of medical tests, but Sky Sports has since published its own update pushing back on the idea that the move is completely dead, leaving the situation genuinely unresolved rather than settled either way. Read Man Utd covered the initial medical concerns on Friday, and nothing from a club or Atalanta has been confirmed on the record since.

Roma name their price for Manu Kone

With the midfield rebuild still short of its target number of signings, United’s interest in Manu Kone has taken a step forward. Roma have told United that discussions will only start at a valuation in the region of £47-50m for the French midfielder, according to reports in Italy and the UK this week, with the Serie A club needing to sell to meet financial fair play requirements. United have not yet matched that number, and Arsenal, Manchester City and Chelsea have also been credited with interest.
