Neymar confident United can sanction summer transfer

Barcelona forward Neymar is reportedly confident that a Premier League club will be able to afford a move for him in the summer – including his massive wage demands.

United broke the world transfer record last summer to bring Paul Pogba back to the club from Italian champions Juventus – but they’d have to smash that record out the park to sign Neymar from Barcelona.

The Daily Record claims that Manchester United are pushing the hardest for the Brazilian’s signature – and the tricky forward, widely considered to be one of the best players in the world, feels assured that United are willing to buy out his contract – to the tune of 200 million euros – if necessary.

The Record suggests that Neymar is open to a move to the Premier League, with Barcelona having made it known to him that Lionel Messi and Luis Suarez are a more important part of their blueprint at the Camp Nou.

Neymar has registered 15 goals and 18 assists in 40 appearances for the Blaugrana so far this season – with his most notable performance coming in the second leg of Barca’s Champions League round of 16 game against PSG, when he orchestrated a remarkable late comeback as the Catalan side came back from a 4-0 deficit in the first leg to progress with a 6-1 win on the night, and a 6-5 victory on aggregate.
