- United and PSG lead the way in their interest in Amoako
- Does United have the time to gamble?
- How INEOS could decide the next winger
Manchester United could reportedly battle Paris Saint-Germain for a Danish Superliga prospect. Having secured a Premier League top-five finish, the Red Devils are going full throttle to strengthen their squad this summer.
Next season’s Champions League has INEOS preparing to continue their rebuild. That includes targeting youth talent that can develop into top stars.
One of those is Prince Amoako Junior from FC Nordsjaelland, who could even serve as backup to Matheus Cunha. While multiple European clubs are monitoring the player, Ghanaian outlet My Joy confirms PSG and United are the frontrunners.
Is Amoako Worth United’s Time?
United’s decision-makers have plenty of decisions to make and that starts with a permanent head coach appointment. Also on their to-do list is signing at least two new midfielders, a left winger and potentially a left-back.
Reports suggest AC Milan’s Rafael Leao and Ajax’s Mika Godts are already on the wishlist, and the Ghanaian youngster is its newest addition.
This season, the Nordsjaelland winger has scored nine goals and provided six assists in 33 appearances. He signed his first professional contract in February 2025, and the ink is set to confirm his stay in the Danish Superliga until 2030.
PSG and United have a strong interest, while Nordsjaelland demands a transfer fee of €27 million to €32 million ( £28 million range) for the teenager. He has been steadily proving himself for the Danish side this season. Besides, his pace, direct running, and ability to take on defenders stand out. Additionally, the side sits 3rd in the table, and the youngsters’ contribution has been key.
Why INEOS Might Have Doubts
United boasts one of the widest scouting networks, as it is among the biggest clubs in the world. While the teenager made his mark with a handful of appearances, adapting that to English football is an entirely different challenge. These doubts linger in the mind of INEOS chief Sir Jim Ratcliffe.
At £28m, the 19-year-old arrives with expectations far beyond his age. Under INEOS, the club has adopted a more cautious approach to the transfer market, moving away from the heavy spending. A new left winger would step into Old Trafford next season, but the budget would be planned based on midfield additions.
Currently, how United play their cards around Marcus Rashford’s future could decide who the side will pick as their left winger. Barcelona are proving a nuisance over triggering his £26m buy option.
