Manchester United are prepared to sell Harry Amass permanently for around £6million during the summer transfer window.
The Athletic reports that several Championship clubs are interested in signing the 19-year-old. United would prefer a permanent transfer rather than sanctioning another temporary move.
Amass spent the first half of last season with Sheffield Wednesday. He became a regular at Hillsborough and won consecutive club Player of the Month awards before United recalled him in January.
He subsequently joined Norwich City, but a serious hamstring injury limited him to one substitute appearance. The defender returned to United for his rehabilitation before joining Michael Carrick’s pre-season squad.

Amass strengthened his case for a first-team opportunity with an impressive second-half display in Trondheim.
The academy graduate replaced Luke Shaw at half-time before converting Jaydan Kamason’s low delivery. United’s official match report confirmed Amass scored their fourth goal during the comfortable victory.
Amass also created Jacob Devaney’s goal from a corner. However, United appear willing to approve his departure despite that contribution.
ReadManUtd’s report on Kamason’s performance highlighted how the two young full-backs gave Carrick greater attacking threat after the interval.
Patrick Dorgu and Shaw remain ahead of Amass in the left-back hierarchy. Diogo Dalot and Noussair Mazraoui can also provide cover, limiting the minutes available to the teenager.
A £6million sale would generate useful academy profit. United should still protect themselves by negotiating buy-back and sell-on clauses.
The Harry Amass transfer decision suggests the club believe regular Championship football is the best next step. His Rosenborg performance may now strengthen United’s position when interested clubs begin negotiations.
