Manchester United midfielder Dan Gore is in advanced talks to join Luton Town on loan, with the 21-year-old choosing Kenilworth Road as the next step in his development.
Gore had several options available before the transfer window closes, but the opportunity to work under Jack Wilshere is understood to have played a major role in his decision.
BBC Manchester United reporter Simon Stone says talks between Gore and Luton are advanced, although a final agreement has not yet been completed.
Dan Gore set for another Man Utd loan
United have always planned for Gore to spend the 2026/27 season away from Old Trafford rather than remain around Michael Carrick’s first-team squad.
The midfielder spent last season with Rotherham United, making 34 League One appearances during a much more productive loan spell after injuries disrupted previous moves.
Regular senior football remains the priority.
Luton are targeting promotion from League One and Wilshere’s presence appears to have helped them move ahead of Gore’s other suitors.
The former Arsenal midfielder played in a similar position during his own career, giving Gore another reason to favour the move.
United have several academy decisions to make before the window closes.
ReadManUtd reported on Friday that Toby Collyer is joining West Brom in a permanent deal worth up to £7.6million, while Harry Amass and Diego Leon could also leave in search of regular minutes.
Stone reports that neither Amass nor Leon’s immediate future has yet been decided.
Carrick also provided an update on Amass and JJ Gabriel earlier this week, with United continuing to assess which younger players should remain around the senior squad.
For Gore, another loan appears considerably closer.
A deal still needs to be finalised, but Luton are now in pole position to give him the regular football United believe he needs.
