Man Utd consider one final Alejandro Balde push on deadline day

Manchester United could be ready to make one last attempt to sign Alejandro Balde before the transfer window closes.

Gerard Romero of Jijantes FC reports that Manchester United are considering a late push for the Barcelona left-back after failing to get Lewis Hall from Newcastle United.

Balde’s situation at Barcelona has changed in recent weeks. The 22-year-old has slipped down the pecking order and the Catalan club are reportedly open to selling him if a suitable offer arrives.

United face major obstacles for Alejandro Balde

There is still plenty standing in the way of a deal.

Barcelona are understood to want around €40 million for Alejandro Balde. Those demands had previously led United to consider walking away from the move.

The club had been looking at a loan deal, but Barcelona have shown little interest in that option.

That leaves United with a difficult decision on deadline day. The need for another senior left-back remains, but the transfer fee required to sign Balde would be substantial.

There is also the player’s own position to consider.

Despite uncertainty over his role at Barcelona, Alejandro Balde reportedly has no intention of leaving the club this summer. That could make it even harder for United to convince him to move to Old Trafford.

United have already explored several options in their search for another left-back, but Hall appears to be off the table and Balde is far from a straightforward alternative.

Still, reports suggest Manchester United aren’t completely ready to give up.

With the deadline now here, it could come down to whether the club are willing to change their stance on the fee and deal structure.
