It has been a busy day around Manchester United, with plenty for supporters to get their heads around after the transfer window. Lewis Hall’s failed move has come back into focus, Roy Keane has given his verdict on the Newcastle defender, while Rasmus Hojlund has reflected honestly on his time at Old Trafford.
There has also been movement involving two former United forwards, with Jadon Sancho reportedly being offered a surprising route to Dubai and Anthony Martial exploring a possible return to the Premier League. Elsewhere, academy striker Gabriele Biancheri has left the club, while questions remain over United’s decision not to sign another striker.
Here is everything you may have missed from today’s Manchester United news.
Gabriele Biancheri leaves Manchester United
Manchester United academy forward Gabriele Biancheri has left the club on a permanent transfer to Austrian second-tier side Wacker Innsbruck. The 19-year-old joined United from Cardiff City in 2023 and was part of the Under-18 side that won both the league title and Premier League Cup in 2023/24.
He later moved up to the Under-21s and scored five goals with one assist in Premier League 2 last season. Biancheri also spent part of the 2025/26 campaign on loan at Rotherham United, making 11 appearances. He leaves United without making a senior first-team appearance.

Why Manchester United missed out on Lewis Hall
United explored a move for Lewis Hall but Newcastle were unwilling to sell. The Magpies had already allowed Anthony Gordon, Sandro Tonali and Bruno Guimaraes to leave and did not want another important player to depart.
The timing also worked against United, as the club was still working through its midfield plans when Newcastle’s position became firmer. United have not completely abandoned the idea, though, and could look at Hall again next summer.

Roy Keane gives his Lewis Hall verdict
Roy Keane was not convinced that Hall would have been the right answer for United at left-back. The former United captain questioned the defender’s ability out of possession and stressed the importance of defensive solidity.
United eventually failed to sign a senior left-back, leaving Luke Shaw as the main option in the position.

Rasmus Hojlund reflects on his United spell
Rasmus Hojlund has spoken about his time at Old Trafford, describing his first season as a success and his second as a disappointment. He pointed to injuries and the change in style following Ruben Amorim’s arrival as factors in a difficult period.
Hojlund also reflected on United’s Europa League final, believing winning that match could have changed how his time at the club was viewed.

Jadon Sancho offered surprise Dubai move
Jadon Sancho is reportedly attracting interest from Arabian Falcons, with the UAE Second Division side preparing an approach for the free agent. The club is managed by Jonjo Shelvey, while former Leicester City and United defender Danny Simpson is a player-coach.
Ravel Morrison is also at the club and has recently been named captain. Sancho remains without a club after Aston Villa decided against making his loan move permanent.

United stars surprised by striker decision
Some Manchester United players were reportedly surprised that the club did not sign another striker. The Athletic reported that some within the squad felt another centre-forward was needed alongside Benjamin Sesko, which would also have allowed Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo to spend more time in their preferred positions.
United instead focused heavily on midfield, while Joshua Zirkzee stayed after interest from Juventus and a late Everton enquiry failed to produce a move.
