Manchester United are among the clubs reported to have made contact over Borussia Dortmund midfielder Felix Nmecha after his Germany World Cup performances raised his summer profile.
The 25-year-old is attracting a heavyweight field, with Bayern Munich, Manchester City, Liverpool and Real Madrid also linked. For United, the interest fits a wider search for midfield quality under Michael Carrick, especially as the club look to add athleticism and control before returning to a more demanding European schedule.
Dortmund are under no pressure to sell, with Nmecha contracted until 2030, but an offer around €100million could reportedly force a conversation, according to Bulinews’ report on contact with the player’s representatives.
United’s midfield question keeps widening
Nmecha would be an ambitious target because he is not simply a depth option. His World Cup form has pushed him into a different price bracket, and Dortmund’s position means United would need real conviction before entering a battle of this size.
The appeal is obvious enough. He offers height, carrying power and tournament-tested confidence, all qualities Carrick could use in a midfield that needs to become more robust.
The risk is equally clear. If the fee climbs towards elite territory, United must decide whether Nmecha is the centrepiece of the rebuild or one name in a market they should not chase emotionally.
